Green Cove Springs

Green Cove Springs, Florida
Our adventure began in Green Cove Springs, Florida. We found out very quickly that when you purchase a boat, the word boat means bring out another thousand! Holland Marine is where we stayed for a month and a half. We had our vessel service, repaired, new electronics installed and bought a dinghy & motor. We had the bow shined and took off the old name and put on the new name Mystique designed by Christopher Gilliland. She looks great!

We polished her up from bow to stern. Now we are just waiting for the weather to be nice enough to head out. Our plans are to head down the ICW (The Intracoastal Waterway) toward Miami FL.

Before we start our journey I would like to mention a few things about our stay here at Holland Marine.

The owner Tom Holland treated us like family. He took us in taught us so much about our vessel. His whole crew is very professional and very friendly. We sailed our first solo sail, was invited to there company Christmas party, drank lots of beer, met some of the nicest people that we have ever met, right here on this dock. We will never forget how well we were taken care of by Tom Holland. Anyone needing anything done to their boat come see Tom they do all. Holland Marine, Green Cove Springs, FL.

We'd also like to send many thanks to Captain Bob and Karen, for all of their help and guidance. We will miss all of our new friends in Florida dearly.

First Solo Sail

We went out on our first sail solo on Sunday. A couple of young guys that we met here sailed along in there boat. They took these pictures of our boat. I thought you might want to see them. We are still here in Florida. We had some belt brake wile we were out sailing and had to be towed back to the dock. Now we are waiting for that part to come in. We also ordered extra parts to keep aboard. We can't wait to get underway we are learning a lot!
